Curriculum

 

 

Key stage 1

  1. Students are able to develop fundamental movement skills through movement activities and physical play.
  2. Students are able to express oneself and show creative thinking in physical activities.
  3. Students are able to display positive attitudes towards participation in physical activities and describe the health benefits of physical activities.

 

Key Stage 2

  1. Students are able to develop basic skills in at least eight different physical activities from not less than four areas through introductory activities and modified games, including football, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, table tennis, track and field, gymnastics, dancing, etc.
  2. Students are able to communicate and co-operate effectively with others.
  3. Students are able to follow rules and regulations, and demonstrate a sense of fair play.
  4. Students show understanding of basic knowledge about physical activities and their contribution to health.

 

 

Outreach Extension Activities

Our students would have the opportunity to go out of the classrooms and enjoy activities which can enhance their motivation and competence. Students are able to stretch their potential in sports. Physical activity includes track and field, gymnastics, football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, fencing and martial arts.

Assessment

In the assessment of physical education, students are graded in three areas: motor and sports skills, health and fitness, and sports-related values and attitudes. During the PE lessons, students can set their own goals and corresponding practice direction through conducting self- or peer assessment. Students are encouraged to participate in different physical activities and build on their existing strengths, in order to enhance their learning effectiveness.
